Diameter – 19.84 mm.
Near the modern city of Taraz, on one of the roads of the Silk Road from the medieval city of Yangi Taraz, discovered the new mint of the Chaghatayid Khanate, which issued unusual falses with a zoomorphic image. Set exact name mint has not yet succeeded (was it T.rar? or not). At the same time the place of coinage of falses is established with certainty. The emission center was located in the area of the modern settlement Besagash on the border of Kazakhstan with Kyrgyzstan.
Presumably established the time of their minting 690s/1290s, but not later 707-708/ 1307-1309. The face of the coin repeats the face side of Otrar’s falses. The reverse side is original, which preserved the traditions of the Iranian school of coin affairs of the Khorasan region.
